• Saturday 28th  March 2026 - Spring Fayre at Birchencliffe Community Centre - Loved it!
• Saturday 30th May 2026 - RAFA Tipsy Tea Party at Lindley Liberal Club - Loved it!
• Sunday 7th June - Vintage Day in Brighouse, our shop will be open 10-4pm - Gonna be a fab day!

Our history

Thoughtful Gifting Shop are young but so is the owner. 

In February 2024 and barely out of school, the owner of Thoughtful Gifting Shop invested her birthday money, 

(every penny she had) to buy her first batch of stock. 

Assisted by her Mum, they spent the next year testing various business models. 

They visited many local craft fairs & events, and spent 6 months as a regular stall holder at Brighouse Open Market. 

Our move to 11 Market Street, Brighouse

A chance conversation back in January 2025, led to this mother & daughters dream to open their own gift shop become a reality. 

Living locally, Brighouse was  already our "go to" for food, entertainment & shops.  

Thoughtful Gifting Shop opened its shop doors at Market Street, Brighouse on Valentines Day 2025. 

We've recently celebrated 2 years in business, 1 year in our Brighouse shop.

Proposed retail shop closure - 11 Market Street Brighouse - Announcement 01.05.26

It is with great sadness, that we annouce we have made the decision to close our current shop front in Brighouse on or before 30.06.26. 

Our online shop, and attendance at external events will continue. 

Thoughtful Gifting Shop will live on, but in a different way.

We have tried very very hard to establish our Market Street shop in Brighouse & many factors have led to the decision we have made. 

Sadly for our shops young owner the prospect of earning a living has not been realised. (& oh how we've tried. ) 

Mum & Grandad have supported our young lady with the project wholeheartedly for over 2 years. As a young person, the owner indeed has to path her future, and everything at the moment is saying its time to re-focus the energy, and move on to pastures new. How will that look? We dont know yet...

We are SO very grateful to the Market Street massive - you know who you are, what a wonderful set of humans.

To Brighouse shoppers - Thank you, thank you, thank you! (We still do a happy dance everytime you shop with us)

Update 31.05.26

Back in early May we made the sad announcement above. For the past month we have been brainstorming, thinking, consulting but truthfully at the moment we just don't have a Plan B, but we do have another 18months on our shop lease. 

Our planned retail shop closure may be stalled for the time-being and reviewed on a week to week, month to month basis.  Our shop means an awful lot to us, for many reasons & we do love it.  We are not flakey, far from it actually. The retail sector is tough for many at this time throughout the UK. We're just honest about our situation.  Comments have been made regarding our opening hours. Its fair, extended opening hours may well help improve our situation. Whilst the owner of this business is young & paving a future; her highly experienced family mentors continue to actively work full time & manage very successful business & charitable endeavours away from our little shop. This of course means we can't be in 2 places at once.  

For now, our Market Street shop will continue to open Thursday, Friday & Saturdays, with the occasional ad-hoc days. If & when we have a Plan B, we will of course let you know. We thank you for your understanding.
